Academics says they are deranged by how South Africans have continued to have loyalty in poor leadership.

Scholars raised their opinions during the Xubera Institute Appreciation Lecture to Professor Paulus Zulu in Durban last night.

The lecture was attended by well-known political analysts, academics and scholars.

Political Analyst, Somadoda Fikeni says the patronage is the contributing factor to poor leadership in this country.

Former Nedbank Chairman, Dr. Ruel Khoza says followers are to blame but they also have the potential to shape the future.
