KZN Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has taken the drastic step of using its constitutional prerogative to dissolve the Nquthu municipal council elected during last year’s local government elections because of its protracted failure to elect office bearers, including a mayor and a speaker, due to political infighting. Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube made the announcement to members of the media in the press  briefing at Mayville in Durban on 12.02.17

Economic Development MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube has called on women to use technology to attack socio-economic challenges.

Dube-Ncube was speaking at the ICT women conference at the Durban Greyville Convention Centre.

She says the use of technology can solve a lot challenges in sectors like financial services and bio-technology industry.

Dube-Ncube says disruptions in technology is moving so fast and it is now a global trend.

Economic Development MEC Nomusa Dube Ncube says they have a plan to roll out broadband technology across the province.

She was speaking on the sidelines of the Women in ICT Conference In Durban.

Dube Ncube says at least within the next four years, the whole province will have internet connection.

Meanwhile Zibo MaSotobe from the I-CT Company says women must use their gadgets to venture into businesses.
